Here is a track by track review of Leona Lewis's debut album Spirit:
Bleeding Love: classic track on the album. This was the debut single, and rightly so - a beautiful song that fits Leona's voice brilliantly.
Whatever It Takes: more uptempo than 'Bleeding Love' and definitely one of the stronger tracks on the album, both vocally and with the music production.
Homeless: a soothing ballad showing the strengths of Leona's voice.
Better In Time: Great uptempo track showing that Leona is not just about ballads - it has a great chorus with the backing vocals complementing Leona's voice very well.
Yesterday: A beautiful track which demonstrates the great range that Leona can manage with that glowing voice of hers.
Take A Bow: Stand out track on the album which has the best music production on the album. Something you may not expect Leona to sing, but listening a few times, you quickly realise why it was selected to be on the album. Great track.
I Will Be: One of the best ballads on the album, with great lyrics.
Angel: Leona shows us that she is an angel with this beautiful track.
Here I Am: A slow ballad that is led predominantly by Leona's voice. Great lyrics too.
I’m You: More of an R'n'B feel (produced by Ne-Yo) this gives Leona the chance to show a different side to her talent.
The Best You Never Had: Noone could have sung this song better than Leona - it is a great song.
The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face: almost as great as the original version. Few can pull off singing such a classic song - but Leona manages it with ease and makes those high notes seem so easy!
Footprints In The Sand: a soothing, calm ballad to finish the album with. Brilliant from beginning to end.
